Expo East 2018 | 27 Products You Need to Know About

Expo East is a huge natural food expo that happens every September on the East Coast. This year, however, I was unable to attend due to a last minute decision to stay home because of the Hurricane. It was a hard decision to make, but we felt that it was best to stay home and be safe since we were unsure of what the Hurricane would do.

After every Expo East and Expo West, I have written a Top 10 list of my favorite finds from each food show. Even though I was unable to make it, I was still able to compile a list of brand new products from some of the companies that I already know and love, as well as some new companies that I would have met at the show (since I had their booths bookmarked on my list).

So, in alphabetical order, here are some amazing new products that you should know about.

Aunt Fannie’s is a health and wellness company that makes natural and effective cleaning products. Their products are made with ingredients that help maintain a healthy balance between your body and the indoor microbiome. “Each of us is our own microbiome, with gazillions of invisible allies that keep us healthy, safe and strong. I have used their cleaning sprays, wipes and my favorite — their fly punch to catch those nasty fruit flies we get when I like to leave the windows open.

They launched a brand new product at Expo East — Mosquito Wipes. They repel nasty mosquitos, are DEET free, and are made of non-toxic, microbiomic ingredients! They are safe for sensitive skin, non-irritating and can be used on kids over 6 months old.

They come in a box of 10 individually wrapped wipes that are each one-time-use. They are biodegradable, as well. I love that they are individually wrapped, so you can take a few in your purse or pocket if you are out for the day.

Aunt Fannie’s products always amaze me! I only wish I had these just a week before Expo when I was in Mexico and got about 12 mosquito bites.

Biena Chickpea Snacks make roasted chickpeas in different flavors. I’ve only tried the Organic Sea Salt Chickpeas. They are Organic, NonGMO Project verified, gluten free (not certified) and have 3 ingredients: organic chickpeas, organic sunflower oil and sea salt.

I’d never tried this brand until they recently sent me a bag of these chickpeas, and I must say, I do like them. I know you can use them to munch on as they are good protein and fiber, but you can also toss them on a salad, or in a soup.

CauliPower’s Sweet Potatoasts were a huge hit on social media during Expo East. These vegan, gluten free, paleo, high fiber, nonGMO already cut sweet potato toasts will come in 2 flavors: Original and Sea Salt & Olive Oil.

The ingredients are on point as they literally are just Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Roasted Sweet Potatoes. With no artificial flavors, preservatives or colors, these sweet potato toasts are a great source of fiber, Vitamin A & C as well as Vitamin B6!

Cece’s Veggie Co. makes ready to cook veggie products in different shapes, sizes and from different vegetables. Their products are made in dedicated facilities that are wheat free, gluten free, peanut free, tree nut free, shellfish free and soy free. They are also Whole 30 approved, USDA Organic, certified gluten free and NonGMO verified!

They recently launched a few new products that are definitely tasty! Shells & Cheese made with a dairy free organic cheez sauce and Shells & Cheese made with organic cheddar cheese sauce. The “shells” are made from organic butternut squash and taste great! I love the texture of these shells.

Their new organic Zucchini Noodles with Marinara are also a wonderful addition to the Cece’s family! We had only had their Noodled line of products before this and we love the other products they have added to the lineup. They recently sent me their Shells & Cheese, Zucchini Noodles with Marinara and Riced Medley which includes cauliflower rice, broccoli, carrot and green onion. This is a fantastic base for any meal. Just add some seasoning, protein of choice (if desired) and heat up in a skillet for a quick and healthy meal!

EcoVessel is a new company to me. They reached out to me prior to Expo East, and I was very excited to meet them. However, since I didn’t make it to the show, they kindly sent me some samples… ummm, I am in love!

These stainless steel reusable bottles and cups are designed to keep your cold things cold and your hot things hot. I have used mine almost every other day since I received them, and I love it!

Enjoy Life Foods Breakfast Fruit & Oat Ovals are a thing, and a tasty thing for sure! One of my favorite brands, Enjoy Life Foods, just launched a brand new product at Expo East. These Breakfast Ovals are free from gluten and 14 other common allergens. They are also very transparent about their ingredients.

Breakfast Fruit & Oat Ovals come in 4 flavors: Maple Fig, Apple Cinnamon, Berry Medley and Chocolate Chip Banana. They are also packed with 20+ grams of whole grains, made with 4 times the purity protocol gluten free oats and are quite filling and tasty, too.

Emmy’s Organics - is a brand that I have loved for a few years now. Their delicious USDA Organic, vegan and gluten free coconut cookies are something that everyone should experience. Their cookies are made with delicious, nutritious and high quality ingredients!

Emmy’s just launched 2 brand new flavors that I just tasted about 10 minutes before writing this: Golden Milk and Matcha — once again, they nailed it! I must be honest with you and say that Matcha is not my go-to flavor, though I do enjoy it sometimes… and this is one of those times! The Golden Milk flavor might rival my love for their Peanut Butter flavor, and the aftertaste is incredible!

HealthAde Kombucha is one of our most favorite brands and kombucha makers. Their new Bubbly Rose might just be my favorite flavor (tied with their Holiday flavor). It has bursts of flavor of Hawthorn Berry, Mangosteen and Pink Rose.

For this flavor, they teamed up with Tone It Up (a popular fitness and lifestyle group) to bring this flavor. It’s fruity, it’s tart, it’s bubbly and, for me, it’s a total hit! Plus, that label and packaging is gorgeous.

HealthAde’s kombuchas are USDA Organic, gluten free, NonGMO project verified, Kosher, Vegan, and Raw! Their bottles are glass, made in small 2.5 gallon batches, are cold pressed and made with real food ingredients.

Glean - I discovered this brand a few months back, and their Sweet Potato Flour sat in my

cupboard for a long time, until one day I whipped up this amazing stack of Sweet Potato Pancakes. Why did I wait so long? We will never know!

When I found out they were going to be at Expo East, I knew I had to go visit their booth. I had’t tried their product at that point, but I loved what they were doing!

Glean makes Sweet Potato Flour, Pumpkin Flour, Cauliflower Flour and Beet Flour. Yum — think of all of the things that you could make with that lineup!

My Gut Garden is a company that reached out to me during Expo to stop by their booth. Bummer that I couldn’t meet this lovey company in person, but they did send me two of their products to try. Gut Garden is dedicated to helping people achieve optimal digestive and immune health with their premium research-based intestinal health supplements. Their products only use ultra-pure sourced ingredients that provide a direct heath benefit to the consumer, no preservatives, colorings or flavorings are used — ever!

Gut Garden sent me their Digestive Enzymes and Activated Charcoal. I haven’t tried their products just yet, BUT I do take Digestive Enzymes every day and keep Activated Charcoal in the house and travel with it at all times.

NutCrumbs is a great company that I found on Instagram over the summer, and, ever since then, I am addicted to their crumbs! NutCrumbs are a bread crumb alternative. Their crumbs are made from nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews and spices). I’ve used their crumbs in meatballs, to bread chicken and my favorite way is actually as a “parmesan cheese alternative” on top of veggie noodles, pasta, salad and even savory toast.

Once again, I was bummed that I didn’t get a chance to meet the NutCrumbs family in person at Expo but I did reach out to them to see if they were launching anything new at the show. They recently launched a “Just Almonds” line! Rather than adding cashews and pistachios, this line is just what it’s called: just almonds and spices.

RX BAR has been a favorite brand for our family. Their bars consistently blow us out of the water they are so, so good! I love that they have recently added more flavors to their RXBAR Kids line and this big kid is very happy!

Their kids line has smaller versions of their regular size bars but they have tweaked the flavors. Flavors include: Peanut Butter Chocolate, Double Chocolate, PB&J, Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon Raisin and Berry Blast.

Sweet Apricity is a company that I found on instagram and loved that they made AIP, Paleo caramels and marshmallows made with real ingredients! They reached out after Expo since I couldn’t make it due to the hurricane and said that they would love to send me samples. I was very stoked and I am here to scream from the mountain tops that this company is absolutely amazing.

I even made a yummy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie and used their Pumpkin Spice marshmallows for garnish — HECK YEAH! These are the best pumpkin spice marshmallows I have ever had and I don’t even like pumpkin spice LOL!

I was most anxious to try their caramels. I grew up loving my great grandma’s caramels that she always made. There was nothing like Grammie’s caramels, and there may never be BUT, Sweet Apricity’s caramels are the next best thing, they are also the much healthier thing and the thing made with ingredients that I can eat, so they are definitley a winner in my book — as are all of their products.

Vital Proteins is a a wonderful company that I have loved for years. I have taken their collagen every single day for the past at least 2 years and I really believe it’s helped me grow back my hair after my hair loss (you can learn more about my hair loss here).

Their brand new Tropical Hibiscus Beauty Collagen Water just launched at the show! Each serving offers 12g of collagen, Skin, Hair and Nail Support, helps with skin hydration, skin elasticity, and digestive health. Wild Friends Foods just launched a trio of Collagen Nut Butters at Expo East. Wild Friends Foods already makes a variety of amazing nut butters that aren’t filled with cane sugar or fillers! They continue to launch new products that impress our taste buds every single time.

They use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (already a big fan) mixed in with their magical nut butters to create this trio that is more fabulous than 2001/2002 Destiny’s Child! They come in 3 flavors: Collagen Chocolate Peanut Butter, Collagen Vanilla Peanut Butter and Collagen Vanilla Almond Butter.

PlusCBD was the company that first introduced CBD to me. I actually found their booth at Expo West 2017 and an hour later I sprained my knee and the jar of topical CBD cream they gave me definitely came in handy the next few days of expo. Their products have been a hit for us. We love their peppermint liquid CBD and use it in hot cacao, and love the topical CBD as well.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid found in hemp. CBD isn’t intended to treat to cure anything specific but it is being used more and more by so many people. You can learn more about the benefits here.

They just launched a new product at Expo East this year - CBD Hemp Gummies. These gummies offer a quicker tastier way of taking CBD. They come in 2 flavors: Cherry Mango and Citrus Punch.
