Product: Namaste Foods Pizza Crust Mix
I have been pretty excited to write about this product for awhile, and I finally get to share it with you! One of the first brands that I tried when I totally changed my eating habits was Namaste Foods. The first product I tried was the Brownie Mix and couldn't believe how tasty it could be considering it didn't have the same (crappy) ingredients that other brownies mixes had: milk, corn starch, butter, sugar and chemicals. The second product we tried was their Pizza Crust Mix.
Namaste Foods Pizza Crust Mix is so very easy to make (like most of the recipes that I post) and only requires the addition of water and olive oil to the mix. We (my hubs and I) really enjoy the subtle, yet tasty, Italian herb flavor of the crust and the texture of it, as well. It's really like you are eating a thin crust pizza, and you can cusomtize it anyway you like!
We prefer either Basiltops pesto or any plain tomato sauce with oregano and seasoning. We always top it with shredded chicken for protein, fresh raw garlic (cause no meal is complete without garlic!) and mozzarella cheese. (Side note: You will notice that we don't eat dairy that comes from cows: milk, cheeses, cream, etc. But we do enjoy cheeses from goat and sheeps milk - it has to do with something in the process of the cheese. When I changed my eating habits, my doctor said that I CAN have mozzarella cheese and feta - which is awesome cause I am Greek - and so that is why we consider ourselves "mostly dairy free" because the only cow we eat is mozzarella cheese).
When my mom is in town, she ususally requests that I make this pizza for her because it's guilt free! Yes there are carbs, but you can rest assure knowing that you are putting healthy and chemical-free ingredients into your body AND it's a way for people who are avoiding sugar, wheat, corn, dairy, peanuts, gluten, etc to enjoy good homemade pizza!
Below are the instructions and pictures to look at. Feel free to get creative with your toppings or make a basic pizza mix. If you don't eat cheese or dairy, consider a yummy rice or almond cheese, instead.
Start off with your bag of pizza crust mix. Do not just pour the whole thing in your mixing bowl - you get two pizzas out of the entire mix! Carefully measure out 1 1/2 cups of the mix, 1 1/4 cups of filtered water and 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. When we made this last night, I was completely out of olive oil, so I used some basil olive oil which gave it a nice flavor. Then mix it well as instructed.
Spray your round pizza baking sheet or any large cookie sheet with an olive oil spray or nonstick spray and then spread your pizza "dough" around evenly. I like to use this cool baking frosting spatula. Then bake it for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, take your crust out and add whatever you like! We added Basiltops Vegan Pesto, shredded chicken, raw garlic, olives, mozzarella and some feta.
You might be thinking that we ran out of olives based on the picture. However, I absolutely love olives, but my husband does not like olives so we only put it on the part that Mom and I would enjoy.
After you decorate your pizza, put it back into the oven for another 10 - 15 minutes or until your cheese is golden!
Serve it with a side salad with my yummy Cabo Wabo Salad Dressing! This pizza is delicious and i HIGHLY recommend it for anyone and everyone! You can purchase it a Whole Foods Market, Mother's Market (a Southern California grocery store) or online! Read more about Namaste Foods HERE!
